Brief Update on Dickson Kasongo’s retirement, Worship, and Training Conference:
1) We were all very blessed to share in the retirement service for Pastor Dickson Kasongo after he served for 15 years as the National Director for Emmaus Road Discipleship Efforts in the nation of Zambia. You will see in some pictures the beautiful relationship between Pastor Dickson and Eddie Napps. They have know and served together in this effort that began with 59 students in 2005 and has grown to thousands of students, Zone Leaders, Area Coordinators, Teachers and new Students. 82,000 Emmaus Road Discipleship Courses have been distributed in Zambia and the work is spreading other countries such as Malawi, Mozambique with new possibities being discovered in other surrounding African countries. This day ended with the transfer of National Coordinator responsibilities from Pastor Dickson to Pastor Mullengwani Mweyama with many emotions being shared, joyful tears, joyful celebration, godly men encouraging one another.
2) Today we shared in a Worship Service with all the leaders who came for the Retirement Ceremony for Pastor Dickson and for the Leadership Training Conference for Teachers, Area Coordinators, and Zone Leaders. I must say of all my experiences of worship, this may have been the most free, powerful, God-filled, Jesus exalting, Holy Spirit led and empowered worship experiences I have ever participated in. The singing, scripture reading, prayers, messages and testimonies were authentic, powerful, spirit-filled and led. Hallelujah, Praise the Name of Jesus, Exalt and Glorify His glorious and holy Name!
3) We had a very full and effective afternoon of training with these precious, godly, holy, committed Zambian brothers and sisters. Pastors, teachers, coordinators and leaders in local bodies of Christ from all the districts and providences in Zambia. The Copper Belt, Livingstone, Eastern province, Central Province and Lusaka. We will return in the morning for a full day of continued equipping, encouragement and training. Pray for each of us to have renewed focus, strength, and wisdom for each session.
Alan Huesing, Eddie Napps, Rick Carr, Cindy Carr, Geoffrey Davis, Derrick Hicks, Gregg Zackary. Pray for Debbie Maxey, Beth Thacker and Dee Jay Whiting as they have traveled to Petauke to minister and serve brothers and sisters in this region.
